"Man follows the earth, the earth follows the sky, the sky follows the Tao, and the Tao follows nature." Organ conditioning uses the way of nature to regulate the body and mind. When the wisdom of thousands of years meets the secrets of the human body, the secret code of the operation of heaven and earth is hidden in the organs. Organ conditioning is based on "yin and yang are mutually generated, and the five elements are in harmony". In one breath, one massage, one press, one yin and one yang, the body's inherent healing power is awakened.
Looking at the inner self, the five internal organs are like the five virtues, conforming to the nature of nature, "Tao produces one, one produces two, two produces three, and three produces all things". The five internal organs belong to the five elements, each with its own "virtue".
The liver belongs to the wood, the general's official, responsible for dredging, storing the soul, opening the eyes, and the gallbladder are the exterior and interior. If the liver is depressed like a dead wood, it will cause irritability and insomnia. It is necessary to "empty the heart and fill the belly", follow its smooth nature, and let the emotions be like the spring breeze blowing the wood, stretching freely.
Heart belongs to fire, the monarch's official, controls blood vessels, stores spirits, opens to the tongue, and is the exterior and interior of the small intestine. If the heart fire is too high, people will be irritable and restless. We should "be extremely empty and keep quiet". The heart fire is like a candle illuminating the abyss, bright but not burning, and the spirit will be at peace.
Spleen belongs to earth, the foundation of acquired constitution, controls transportation and transformation, stores intentions, opens to the mouth, and is the exterior and interior of the stomach. Spleen deficiency is like barren land, which will cause fatigue and phlegm. We need to "govern people and serve the sky, nothing is better than thrift" and cultivate it patiently like a farmer plowing the land, so that the qi and blood will be like fertile soil producing gold and slowly filling up.
Lung belongs to gold, the official of Xiangfu, controls skin and fur, stores souls, opens to the nose, and is the exterior and interior of the large intestine. Lung dryness is like the autumn frost that is too severe, which will cause dry cough and sadness. We should follow the principle of "the heaven and the earth are in harmony, and the sweet dew will fall", so that the lung qi will be like the autumn sun reflecting on the lake, clear and moist without cold, and the soul will be at peace.
The kidney belongs to water, the innate foundation, responsible for bone marrow production, storage of will, opening to the ears and two yin, and the bladder. Kidney deficiency is like the drying up of a water source, which will cause soreness and weakness in the waist and knees, and fear. We need to "be good like water, which benefits all things without competing", so that the kidney essence can be like the abyss, quiet and infinite, and the will is firm.
The "Tao Te Ching" says: "All things carry yin and embrace yang, and the rushing qi makes them harmonious." Organ disorders are all due to the imbalance of yin and yang and the disorder of the five elements.
"All things return to their roots. Returning to the roots is called tranquility, which is called returning to life." The ultimate goal of organ conditioning is to let the body return to the order of "Tao": if the liver wood is smooth, the eyes will be sharp; if the heart fire is bright, the thinking will be agile; if the spleen earth is stable, the steps will be light; if the lung metal is clear, the breathing will be smooth; if the kidney water is full, the ears will be sharp and the teeth will be strong. When the five internal organs are in their proper places like "five stars in a row", and the six bowels are like "rivers, lakes and seas", each following its proper path, this is the simplest state of "body in harmony" - there is no need to seek elixirs outside, but only to maintain yin and yang within, and you will gain the vitality of "living as long as heaven and earth, without end".
